Deutsch: Tympanon über dem Haupteingang der Thomaskirche in Wesseling-Urfeld; das Hochrelief bezieht sich auf die Pericope Adulterae, einen Text aus dem Johannes-Evangelium (7,53 bis 8,11), der die Geschichte von Jesus und der Ehebrecherin erzählt; Schöpfer des Reliefs ist – laut Signatur am Tympanon des nördlichen Seiteneingangs – der Bildhauer Henricus Josephus (genannt Henri) Helwegen (* 9. Mai 1883 in Roermond, † 13. Mai 1956 in Koblenz), er gründete um 1910 in Koblenz-Moselweiß ein "Atelier für christliche Kunst", das nicht mehr existiert (Quelle: Genealogie online von Bob Coret); Helwegen wird genannt im Zusammenhang mit Bildhauerarbeiten in der Bingen-Dietersheimer Kirche (u.a. eine Figur Konrads von Parzham Bruder Konrad, Quelle: Alois Como, Die alte und die neue Kirche in Dietersheim, 1949), in der Kapuzinerkirche Koblenz-Ehrenbreitstein (neobarocke Figur Konrads von Parzheim) und vor der Erlöserkapelle in den Pfarrer-Kraus-Anlagen Koblenz-Arenberg (Figurengruppe Adam und Eva) |
