Description
English: Photo of buildings in Vardø, a small town on the island of Vardøya in the easternmost part of Northern Norway, taken on a summer day with fog drifting in from the sea. Large parts of the town were destroyed by Soviet Russian bombing and later German burning during World War II, and new buildings came during the reconstruction in the 1950s and later.

  • Vardø Municipality's "multipurpose building" (Norwegian:Flerbrukshus), designed by Lorentz Kielland Architects and opened in 2014, featuring a hall for cinema, concerts, and theater, a swimming facility with a 25-meter pool, and a glass intermediate building connecting the town hall.
  • Vardø Town Hall along the Kirkegata street at Valen, designed by the firm Berner & Evensen and built with a pyramid-shaped roof in 1954
  • Yellow flags along the Kirkegata street marking the annual Pomor Festival

Se også [see arkitekturguide.uit.no.
