Valença

Português: Imóvel do Antigo Colégio Português por herança, Joaquim Apolinário da Fonseca, deixou à Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Valença a verba para a construção do Asilo Fonseca, um asilo para a infância desvalida.

Começou a ser construído em 1910, mas só em 1928 foi inaugurado. Nesta ocasião a Santa Casa da Misericórdia assinou um contrato de comodato com a Congregação das Irmãs Franciscanas Hospitaleiras da Imaculada Conceição que permaneceram até 1974, com a designação de Colégio Português.

Posteriormente funcionou como liceu, Casa da Cultura, Escola Secundária, Biblioteca Municipal e por fim sede da ESCE – Escola Superior de Ciências Empresariais aé Fevereiro de 2017. Desde a saída desta Escola deixou de ter qualquer utilização.

O imóvel de planta hexagonal, com um extenso e singular volume de construção de onde se destacam, ainda, a torre do zimbório e a capela de Nossa Senhora de Fátima, destaca-se pela sua imponência a todos quantos circulam nas avenidas centrais de Valença.
