British WW2 era Infantry Tank Official designation:- Tank Infantry MkIII Designer:- Vickers-Armstrong Manufacturer:- Vickers-Armstrong Built:- 1940 to 1944 Total Production:- 8,275 Main Armament:- QF 2-pounder Anti-tank gun The Valentine was a private design by Vickers-Armstrong and therefore did not receive the usual British ‘A’ designation. They were strong and reliable and the chassis was used for several other uses, such as bridgelayers. This is one of the 1,300 British built Valentines which were supplied to the Soviet Union under Lend-Lease agreements, along with almost the entire Canadian production run. In period markings, it is on display in Hall 8 of the Patriot Museum Complex. Park Patriot, Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, Russia. 25th August 2017 |
