Description
English: Gertrude Schenck (1753-1794), wife of Frederick Frelinghuysen (1753–1804). The fragment reads: "In memory of [Gertrude], consort of [Frede]rick Frelinghuysen, daughter of [Henry and] Magdalen Schenck, [departed this] life, March 11, 1794, [aged 41 yrs., 3 mos., 9 dys.]" In the 1912 survey by E. Gertrude Nevius of East Millstone she found the following inscription: "In memory of Gertrude, consort of Frederick Frelinghuysen, daughter of Henry and Magdalen Schenck, d. March 11, 1794, aged 41 yrs., 3 mos., 9 dys."

This image was taken on my December 28, 2003 survey. On the next trip I will have to remember to shoot the front fragment that faces the road.
