English: A couple of Mahatma Gandhi style Hindu pilgrims sitting on the banks of river Ganges. Varanasi in India is a singular peace and calm. There is no place like it in the world. The inwardness of people, each individual completely absorbed in his own personal act of private devotion. In Hinduism, the river Ganges is considered sacred and is personified as the goddess Ganga. Ganga is worshiped by Hindus who believe that bathing in the river causes Moksha (liberation from the cycle of life and death). Varanasi, India.
