Day 7 / Vardø / 4:20 pm - 5:00 pm

Vardø, a small town of 2700 inhabitants in the far north-east of Norway. Stop 40 minutes late afternoon. Do not hang out. A guide waits at the foot of the bridge for his daily visitors. Quickly, he leads us in the thick snow towards the curiosity of the city: a fortress dating from the end of the 13th century. The city is deserted. I will not meet any inhabitant during this short visit.

Vardø, petite commune de 2700 habitants située à l'extrême nord-est de la Norvège. Escale de 40 minutes en fin d'après-midi. Il ne faut pas traîner. Un guide attend en bas de la passerelle ses visiteurs quotidiens. Rapidement, il nous entraîne à pas feutrés dans la neige épaisse vers la curiosité de la ville : une forteresse datant de la fin du 13ème siècle.

La ville est déserte. Je ne croiserai aucun habitant lors de cette courte visite.
