Description
English: This historical marker commemorates the airfield that Charles A. Lindbergh landed at on April 15, 1926 to inaugurate the Saint Louis-Springfield-Peoria-Chicago US AIRMAIL route. Known as Varney's Field at Kellar, the airfield was used until the summer of 1926 when the new Varney's Airport at Big Hollow was opened.
