Summary

edit
Description
English: Varney's Airport at Kellar hosted Alexander Varney's air school from 1922 until at least 1926 and was also used by Charles A. Lindbergh on April 15, 1926 for the inaugural Saint Louis-Springfield-Peoria-Chicago US AIRMAIL route. The actual airfield was approximately 75 acres. A historical landmark was placed near the southeast corner of the field in 1951 on a triangular piece of land donated by nearby resident Stanley Vermeil.
