According to written information provided at a Classic Car Show by the owners:
The car left Vauxhall's Luton plant as a chassis at the end of 1933. The body was then added in London by Whittingham & Mitchel.
The combination of a lightweight body and a six cylinder engine allowed for a claimed maximum speed of 70 mph when the car was new and sufficient flexibility to enable the car to pull away from 20 mph in top gear. The car has a four speed gear box.
