Vegetation around the Volcano House

Summary

edit
Description
English: Crater Rim Historic District. Vegetation is a major character-defining feature throughout the district. Early park planners put great thought into the role of vegetation in the park landscape, and Master Plans from the 1930s include planting plans for this area around the Volcano House. Behind the Volcano House, ohi'a lehua trees are planted over Bermuda lawn grass, creating an open character.
