After great quad-bike ride near Trakai (historical capital of Lithuania) we passed through Devil's pit natural 40 meter bell shape hole, which has several beautiful legends about its origin. The most accepted legend: there was a church on the hill at that spot. Priest of that church was having an affair with young and beautiful girl. One day trespasser noticed them and said: Kad tu skradziai zemen (translation: May the grounds opens and you disappear in the hole). The moment the trespasser said that ground opened and all church with priest and girl disappeared into the pit. In older days than there was still water at the bottom of the pit vigilant people said they can see the towers of the church and honest people even could hear the bells :) Cool light streaks are the result of cracked camera glass. |
