Description
Русский: Иван Витали. "Венера, снимающая сандалию". 1852. Бронза. СПбГУ, Биологический НИИ (Сергиевка, бывшая усадьба герцогов Лейхтенбергских).

Еще до окончания работы Витали над одноименной мраморной статуей Витали распорядился изготовить гальванопластические копии, завершенные к началу 1852 года. Одна была отправлена к его дочери Ольге Николаевне в Штутгарт, другая поставлена на Ольгином острове в Петергофе (утрачена во время ВОВ).

Этот экземпляр был изготовлен в бронзе в гальванопластической и литейной мастерской герцога Лейхтенбергского и подарена его жене вел. кн. Марии Николаевне. Первоначально находилась в Мариинском дворце, затем в Сергиевке. Во время ВОВ сильно пострадала, отреставрирована по инициативе директора БиНИИ Д.В. Осипова к 1999 году.
