Description
English: North-facing facade of the Vergelegen Wine Estate library, Somerset West, South Africa. The estate was established in 1700 by Willem Adriaan van der Stel, then governor of the Cape Colony. The library, built in 1816, was originally a wine cellar but was converted into a library by Lionel Phillips who purchased the estate in 1917.
