Summary edit

Description The home and family curio shop business of the Verkamp's family for over 100 years, Verkamp's re-opened as a National Park Service visitor center on November 26, 2008. The National Park Service now owns the building and it hosts a bookstore and exhibits about the pioneer history of Grand Canyon Village. This photo was taken just before the Verkamp family ended their operation, as retail stocks were being sold off, and does not reflect the variety of merchandise that normally was available. NPS photo by Michael Quinn August 2008.
