Locality: San Vito, Ercolano, Monte Somma, Somma-Vesuvius Complex, Naples Province, Campania, Italy (Locality at mindat.org)

A classic Vesuvianite specimen from the well known locality at San Vito. The crystals on this specimen are extremely sharp and lustrous showing a gemmy brown color. They are associated with whitish colored, thin crystals of Meionite that fluoresce yellow under SW UV light. These Alpine Vesuvianites are not often seen on the market anymore. A great association specimen of this hard to find historic material. Ex. Kosnar Collection.
