Description

Walking back to the coach, after having a look at Vesuvius.

Was a lot of trees up here.

It's last eruption was in 1944.

Most famous for the AD 79 eruption which destroyed (but preserved) Pompeii and Herculaneum.

Saw a "tram" go down the road. But it had to reverse as a coach was coming up (the "tram" parked for a while, to let the coach go past before it headed on it's way back down the mountain).

It is called the Tramvia del Vesuvio.

More like a bus that looks like a tram.

Made by Iveco.
