Przebieg wariantów Via Baltica - rozszerzenie mapy Tomasza Cofty (jest zgoda autora [2]).

Kolorem czerwonym oznaczono zatwierdzony przez rząd wariant białostocki. Via Baltica przecina tutaj Puszczę Augustowską z Doliną Rospudy, Biebrzański Park Narodowy, Puszczę Białą oraz prawdopodobnie Puszczę Knyszyńską. Na zielono zaznaczono popierany przez ekologów i partię pl:wikipedia:Zieloni 2004 wariant łomżyński (z różnymi modyfikacjami).

Oznaczenia:

• A - alternatywne warianty obwodnicy Augustowa, przebiegające na północ od Uroczyska Święte Miejsce przez Raczki. Umożliwiłyby ominięcie Puszczy Augustowskiej z doliną Rospudy. Niestety dotychczasowe dzialania władz zmierzaja do wybudowania obwodnicy Augustowa przez sam środek doliny Rospudy koło Szczeberki (czerwona linia), co równocześnie oznaczałoby przeprowadzenie Via Baltica przez Puszczę Augustowską
• B - droga ekspresowa Suwałki-Raczki-Kalinowo-Ełk według Planu Zagospodarowania Przestrzennego gminy Raczki z 1993 roku. Uwzględniono tam obwodnicę Raczek oraz most na Rospudzie między Raczkami a Dowspudą.
• C - odcinek omijający Puszczę Knyszyńską obiecany przed laty przez GDDKiA, na razie jednak nie ustalono nawet jego przebiegu w poszczególnych gminach
• D - tutaj póki co są prowadzone prace modernizacyjne, planuje się też utworzenie obwodnicy Wasilkowa i to oficjalnie w ramach projektu Via Baltica
