V. cholerae is a lactose non-fermenter, so its colonies will not take on this pink/red color. Instead, they will be pale or colorless.

Summary edit

Description
English: MacConkey agar is a selective and differential culture medium commonly used for the isolation and differentiation of enteric Gram-negative bacteria. While it's not the primary choice for isolating Vibrio cholerae (TCBS agar is the preferred medium), V. cholerae can still grow on MacConkey agar.
