English: Portrait of Victor Amadeus II of Savoy (1666-1732).
"The miniature was probably painted from life as it does not conform to any known portrait of the King. Victor Amadeus II is wearing armour with the chain, jewel and star of the Annunciation. The Order of the Annunciation, one of the oldest orders in Christian countries, was revived by Victor Amadeus at his coronation after the Peace of Utrecht, and made the first Order of the Kingdom of Sicily. Victor Amadeus succeeded his father, Charles Emanuel II, in 1675. He became King of Sicily in 1718 but abdicated in 1730 when he was succeeded by his son, Charles Emanuel Victor III."
