Description |
English: Stamped on negative jacket: Sunset Highway Series
Handwritten on negative jacket: 3258. 1901. Old Gold Creek. Tunnel B looking in Esther Mine. V.W.S. Denny holding candle and watch. He was timing the exposure which was 3 min. I worked in this tunnel and helped drive about 250'. Worked here for seven summers. Would like to go back and make some more photos around this district. Want a shot at the trees in the park from top of hogback. Avalanche swept the trees off and I have photo showing small growth about 1896 or so making about 60 years of growth and I want to go back there where we had great hopes of the mine being a strike. Lindsley album 3, p.42
