Description |
This vessel was built at Beliard-Crighton & Co. (yard no. 88) in Ostende as one in a series of steam trawlers, still building when Belgium was occupied by Germany in 1940. Upon her eventual completion she was taken over by the German Navy in May 1944 as the "tonnenleger" (bouy-layer) Minsen. In 1945 she was taken over by the Danish State as the Zeus, intended for similar service in Danish waters. In November 1949 she was sold to the shipping company Cereso of Marstal and became the Bredholm. The steam engine was replaced by a diesel, ready in March 1950. In May 1951 she became the Leo. In July 1959 sold to Robert Stærke Kristensen and became the Leif Stærke of Ommel. In December 1976 sold to Coquette Shipping Co. Ltd., Limassol, Cyprus and became the Helena. In 1981 became the Transmar of Panama, owned by Coquette Shipping Co. Ltd., Panama. In December 1997 stricken from Lloyds list. IMO 5205605.
