Description One of Calcutta's most beautiful attractions is The Victoria Memorial, officially called the Victoria Memorial Hall. This is a memorial building dedicated to Queen Victoria, former Queen of the United Kingdom and Empress of India. The Victoria Memorial is now a museum and is an autonomous organization within the Government of India's Ministry of Culture. This view of the Victoria Memorial is taken from just outside the compound wall of the monument. (May 2009)
