Note: 1. Bản đồ này không vẽ sông Tiền mặc dù sông Tiền lớn hơn sông Hậu 2. Các địa danh quanh tỉnh An Giang có thể vẽ sai địa điểm theo phân tích dưới đây: Tỉnh An Giang có 2 phủ Tân Thành và Tuy Biên. Phủ Tân Thành có huyện Đông Xuyên ở giữa sông Tiền và sông Hậu ( nay là các huyện Chợ Mới, Phú Tân, TX Tân Châu, An Phú và TP Long Xuyên). Phủ Tuy Biên có các huyện Tây Xuyên ( Tp Châu Đốc, các huyện Châu Phú, Châu Thành, Thoại Sơn) , huyện Hà Dương bao gồm các huyện Tịnh Biên và Tri Tôn hiện nay. Trấn Tây Thành là tỉnh thứ bảy ở vùng Nam bộ nằm ở hướng Bắc huyện Đông Xuyên chứ không phải vị trí đó. Nó gồm 2 tỉnh Kan Dan , Tà Keo và thủ đô Phnom Penh của Campuchia hiện nay. Trương Minh Giảng và Lê Đại Cương là Tổng Đốc và phó Tổng Đốc của thành Trấn Tây này. Các tỉnh Kampot, Kompongsom của Campuchia và Phú Quốc của Việt Nam thuộc về Trấn Hà Tiên dưới triều vua Minh Mạng. Đến năm 1841 vua Thiệu Trị mới trả Trấn Tây thành và hai tỉnh này cho Cao Miên, chỉ giữ lại Phú Quốc cho đến ngày nay. |
