(View due-east to the en:La Sal Mountains, from start of Shafer Canyon region (upper canyon in Canyonlands National Park)) The view is along the southern cliffs and slopes of Dead Horse Point-(about 6000 ft), en:Dead Horse Point State Park.
The butte in the distance is on the Colorado River, about 6.9-mi (Utah DeLorme Atlas), Pyramid Butte, 5,163 feet (1,574 m); the river does gooseneck bends (in Meander Canyon), and is unseen below, and behind cliffs, about 3-mi distant.
