Description: Scrapbook page consists of one photograph of a view of an Arab cemetery near Assiut. The cemetery is in the foreground while there are palm trees in the background. Transcription: If a death occurs in the morning the funeral must take place the same day- Tewfick father of the present Kheadive died, at his country place, in the morning and great skurrying round was required to get him buried by night. If a death occurs in the evening the funeral may be postponed till the next day- the body is washed and mourned over by the family and the professional mourning women. The fikih or schoolmaster reads several Surehs from the koran- the body is then placed on a bier and covered with a red cloth.
