Summary edit

Description
English: Parish Church of Santa Marina in Villanueva de las Torres, small village in Barruelo de Santullán (Palencia, Castile and León).

Dated at the end of the 12th century temple has a single nave surmounted in semicircular apse with two openings beautiful decorated with tips of diamond between two semi-detached columns. The vain central apse is the most interesting and leads a double-headed diamond resting on cimacios of tips of diamond supported by two columns whose capitals are decorated with hipocrifos, half Eagle frieze and half horse, as guardians of the place. The vain of the south wall is very similar but has been partly reconstructed.

Appear in the eaves canecillos decorated with human heads, seated characters, geometric figures, etc. It has a robust Square Tower double-decker separated by a shelf. Each side of the upper floor opens a large arch containing vain case.

Inside the Church the triumphal arch lays on capitals decorated with the theme of Daniel in the moat of the Lions and confronted taps, as well as an old Baroque altar and a good image of the Virgin with the child in the 13th century.
