Traineau traine par un Raine, St Olaus, le chasteu, le port, chemin de Drontheim, Mer Glaciale ou de Moscovie can be translated to "Sled pulled by a reindeer, St. Olav, the castle, the port, the road to Trondheim, the Ice Sea or the Muscovy Sea."

Norsk bokmål: Svært fantasifull framstilling av Vardøhus festning og Vardøya helt øst i Finnmark, med tittelen «Utsikt over byen og slottet i Vardø, hovedstaden i en av provinsene i Norge, kalt ved sitt navn, i den nordligste delen av Europa hvor dagene og nettene varer i seks måneder, fra april til oktober», tegnet på 1600- eller 1700-tallet med tusjpenn og vannfarger. Kunstneren er trolig Louis Boudan.
  • Originaltegningen inngår i samlingene til Bibliothèque nationale de France i Paris, Frankrikes nasjonalbibliotek. Tilsvarende tusjtegninger av samme kunstner fra andre steder i Norge (Oslo, Arendal, Moss og Fredrikstad) kan sees her. Bildene knyttes til den franske slektsforskeren Roger de Gaignières (1642-1715) som startet sin samling i 1670 i samarbeid med tegneren og gravøren Louis Boudan. Boudans leveår er ikke oppgitt, men bildesamlinga presentert i Gallica.bnf.fr antyder at illustratøren var aktiv fra 1658 til 1717.
