Padrão do Vimeiro : Entrance to the Museum opened in 2008 on the occasion of the bi-centenary of the Battle of Vimeiro.

In the foreground, on the left, the last two azulejos panels of six, created by 'Salvador' (Salvador Victor Ferreira) in 1999, 2000 and 2016.
They represent the major historical steps having marked the 18 to 21 August 1808 : from left to right the disembarkation of Anstruther's Brigade at Paimogo on the 18th (<► https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Paimogo_Beach_%E2%80%93_Landing_spot,_19_August_1808.jpg)
to Lieutenant-General Arthur Wellesley being saluted by his Officers for the Victory of the Anglo-Portuguese Army he led on August 21, 1808.  

The next day, August 22, 1808, the capitulation of the napoléonic army was signed in a still-existing house in the center of Vimeiro, where an azulejos panel on its facade recalls that event since 1993 (<► ...) – just a few steps away from Lieutenant-General Arthur Wellesley's head-quarter (<► ...).
