Deutsch: Kindersarkophag, 2. Hälfte 3. Jh., Sandstein. Der Sarkophag wurde 1879 bei der Anlage des Parks vor der Votivkirche gefunden. Beim Öffnen fand man neben der Kinderbestattung, die mit dem Kopf auf eine polsterähnliche Steinerhebung gelegt worden war, mehrere Grabbeigaben. Fünf silberne Ringe und ein kleiner Tonbecher, der zu einem Gesicht ausgeformt war, sind leider nicht mehr erhalten. Die kostbare vergoldete Gewandfibel aus Silber ist im Museum ausgestellt.
English: Child sarcophagus, 2nd half of the 3rd century A.D., sandstone. The sarcophagus was found during the construction of the park in front of the Votive Church (Votivkirche). Inside, a few grave goods were found, apart from the remains of the body that was laid with its head on an elevated pillow-like stone. Five silver rings and a small clay beaker that was moulded into a face unfortunately were not preserved. The valuable gold-plated clothing fibula made of silver is exhibited in the museum. |
