It is estimated that he arrived in New Spain around 1585, since in that year he was appointed teacher of the San Juan de Letrán school. From 1600 to 1611 he made illuminations of the capitularies of more than a hundred choir books of the Puebla cathedral. Around 1612 he returned to Mexico.
