English: NPS Collection photo: General Grant National Park was created in 1890 to protect Grant Grove, home of the General Grant Tree. In 1940, Kings Canyon National Park was established and incorporated General Grant NP, expanding the boundaries to encompass the surrounding canyons and Sierra Crest. This year, 2015, is the 75th anniversary!
