English: Portrait of Vittoria della Rovere (1622-1694), wife of Ferdinando II de' Medici (1610-1670)
Italiano: "Passato dal Guardaroba alla Galleria degli Uffizi nel 1773 (ASG, filza VI, 1773, n.59). Il dipinto è stato considerato giustamente da Pierre Bautier come uno dei capolavori del pittore per la perfezione quasi da miniatura del'esecuzione e la bellezza delle stoffe, con una ricca scala cromatica, che va dal blu ai rossi ed ai gialli. I lineamenti sono della Granduchess a Vittoria della Rovere, della quale ricorderemo che amava molto essere rappresentata in veste di Santa. Fra questo tipo di ritratti, la Santa Mar gherita di Firenze è certamente il più riuscito. L'artista aveva dedicato ad esso una minuziosa preparazione, facendo posare un altro modello per l' atteggiamento della figura, per la quale conosciamo un disegno preparatori o di dimensioni un po' più ridotte, conservato al Gabinetto Disegni e Stam pe degli Uffizi. (n.2377 F; cfr. PM Ferri, 1890, pag. 347; EKJ Reznicok, 1 964, pag. 68, n.87.) Esiste un altro dipinto di una principessa della fami glia Medici, rappresentata come Santa Margherita, dello stesso Suttermans. Questo dipinto di grandi dimensioni rappresenta probabilmente Margherita de' Medici (1612-1679), cognata di Vittoria della Rovere)" [1]
