editDescriptionVolunteers decorating village for traditional village feast - The Feast of Our Lady of Pompei in Marsaxlokk.jpg |
English: The Feast of Our Lady of Pompei is celebrated annually in Marsaxlokk village in Malta. The week prior to the festa has an intensive programme of church functions, brass band marches and spectacular firework displays. Marsaxlokk is decorated in colourful street lights, statues, festoons, drapes and other decorations that create a unique vibrant atmosphere around the village. Brass bands play several cheerful marches on the evenings preceeding the festa, accompanied by beautiful aerial and ground fireworks.
On the day of the feast of Our Lady of Pompei, there is a procession around Marsaxlokk with the titular statue of the town followed by brass bands and a crowd of devotees.
