Volvariella taylorii (Berk. & Broome) Singer

Image location: Massy, Essonne, France

Cap diameter usually around 3 cm but 6 cm in one case. Brownish fibrous layer on top of cap. Volva brown, deeply lobed. No special smell.

Based on microscopic features: Elliptical spores about 7 × 5 µm, lageniform pleurocystidia about 70 × 22 µm. Divisions in micrograph are 1.5 µm.
