English: Troops of the Wehrmacht, the military forces of Nazi Germany, marching at the Akershus fortress in Oslo, Norway on April 9, 1940, during the first days of the German invasion and occupation of Norway in World War II. The soldiers are equipped with greatcoats, jack boots, steel helmets, MG 34 machine guns, Karabiner 98k rifles, field gear, etc. Unarmed Norwegian police in dark great coats and British brodie helmets.

Bildet er tatt der Kirkegata ender i en port på Akershus festning, ved Prinsessens plass med Festningsplassen rett forut, og viser marsjerende tropp fra Wehrmacht, det nazistiske Tysklands militære styrker, inntar og besetter hovedstaden. Soldatene er bevæpna med blant annet maskingeværer (MG 34), Mauser-geværer (Karabiner 98k-rifler), er kledt i side frakker og høye støvler, har stålhjelmer og feltutstyr. Ubevæpna norske politimenn i side uniformsfrakker og med britiske hjelmer hjelper med ro og orden. Folkemengde av sivile Oslo-folk ser på fra bak høyt sprinkelgjerde.
