Summary

Description
English: Wallace's Cave Carved out of the soft red sandstone and situated above the Lugar Water, this is one of the many caves in which 'Braveheart' William Wallace is said to have sought refuge. The interior is approximately 15 square feet and the date of its carving is uncertain. Less certain, in spite of his Ayrshire connections, is whether Wallace ever came near this spot. Regardless of whether or not the Wallace connection is valid, the cave is still well worth a visit.
