Summary edit
DescriptionWalldürnStrawBearCaptive.jpg | A straw bear in the street in Walldürn (Neckar-Odenwald district, Baden-Württemberg), Germany, with brightly dressed attendants in the background. The bears capture women (usually the young and attractive ones!), turning quickly to trap them with the rope that is used to lead them through the streets. They then fall backwards to the ground and refuse to release their captive until a forfeit or ransom is paid. |
