Description
Black and white photograph of Georg Bredig (1868-1944) and fellow chemists at the Technische Hochschule, in Zürich, Switzerland. Bredig is seated and his colleagues are posed around him. Bredig has annotated the names of those pictured beneath the photograph. He has identified, from left to right, Edgar Davidson Congdon (1879-1970), Thomas Blackadder (1887-1953), Paul S. Fiske, "Rue", H. Jermain Creighton (1886-), Walter Fraenkel (1879-1945), "Kling", and "J. Egli." In 1910, Bredig took a position at ETH Zurich as a professor of physical chemistry. He only left soon after when he was given the opportunity to become the Director of the Institute of Physical Chemistry at the Technical University of Karlsruhe.
