Übersichtskarte zum Wanderweg "Blaue Grotte" westlich der Kur- und Kreisstadt Bad Salzungen. Dieser relativ kurze Wanderweg (4,5 km) führt zum Naturdenkmal "Blaue Grotte" - ein ehemaliger Steinbruch im Wald, der teilweise mit Wasser gefüllt ist - in der Karte mit einem Stern markiert. Die nahegelegene Ausflugsgaststätte Am Hundskopf ist aus allen Nachbarorten ausgeschildert und kann somit zur Orientierung für den Hin- oder rückweg genutzt werden. Der kürzeste Weg - orange markiert - beginnt an der Bushaltestelle im Stadtteil Hohleborn. Der Weg vom Bad Salzunger Nachbarort Leimbach ist ebenfalls per Bus (werktags im Stundentakt) zu erreichen - Ausstieg an der Haltestelle am Hotel Weißes Roß. Dieser Wanderweg steigt allmählich an und unterquert die Bundestraße 62 als neue Umgehungsstraße von Bad Salzungen. Nahe der Stadthalle von Leimbach kann man die imposante Talbrücke über das Leimbachtal betrachten.
