| Description |
English: A group walk from Bristol to Bath on the 'Railway Walk', mostly on the trackbed of the former Midland Railway line between the two cities.
The signal box at Warmley station, opened on 4 August 1869 with the start of services from Bristol to Bath via Mangotsfield. Passenger services ceased on and from 7 March 1966 when the Somerset & Dorset line from Bath to Poole, with which services it connected, was 'Sabotaged and Defeated' and closed completely. Freight trains continued to run through here to Bath Mldland Bridge Road depot until the end on 31 May 1971. Around a mile east of here tracks remain as part of the Bitton based Avon Valley Rallway. |
