English: Warning notice seen by the stairs on open-top Southampton Tram 45, which is preserved at the National Tramway Museum in Crich, Derbyshire, UK. It reads -
"Warning". Bargate Arch. Passengers must be seated whilst the Car is passing under Bargate and must not touch the wire Before demolition of Southampton's walls in the 1930s, trams used to pass through the Bargate Arch, which had insufficient clearance for a conventional double-deck tram. |
