Summary edit

Description
English: So said and thought the world, or at least that part of the world that had thought about the matter at all, until a bright idea flashed through a clear American brain, and the world learned differently.
The feather-duster man, if you were to ask him, would tell you that the largest, longest feather in a turkey's wing is absolutely of no use to him, having no plumage upon its convex side. Remote generations of turkeys have worn the edge from this outer wing-feather in Hying over snake fences, until it has become a matter of heredity. So the handsome turkey feather has always been quite useless, and was literally a "bone of contention" between the farmer's wife who sent, it to market, the dealer who bought it, and the man who couldn't work it into his feather dusters. It may seem a small matter to you to raise a fpss about, but at the place we're going to tell you about presently there are tons of these feathers, literally car-loads of them, for now they have been found of use. The despised turkey feather is exalted, and the once potent goose-quill, that weapon" mightier than the sword" in the shaping of destiny, which gave us our peerless Declaration and wise Constitution, comes again into human affairs.
