Published by the Associated Cartoon Service. Artwork by Ernest Jenner.Warren Danforth Lane (1867-?) was born on a farm near Cresco, Iowa. At 16, he moved to Dakota Territory with his family. In 1892, he went to Northwestern University in Illinois, and graduated in three years. He went to law school at University of Minnesota. He began practicing law, and in 1898 was elected states attorney of Roberts County, South Dakota, and served for two terms. In 1904, he moved to Seattle and practiced law in partnership with J.F. Douglas and James H. Douglas at the firm Douglas, Lane & Douglas. He was married to Miss Maude Cross with whom he had four children. |
