Description
English: Remnants of what would have become the northern tunnel portal of the failed Wasserfallen railway project in Switzerland, started in 1873 and aborted in 1874. The tunnel would have connected Reigoldswil in the canton of Basel-Country with Mümliswil in the canton of Solothurn. Picture taken in Reigoldswil, near the Wasserfallen gondola lift station.
Deutsch: Die Überreste des begonnenen nördlichen Portals des Tunnels für das gescheiterte Wasserfallen-Eisenbahnprojekt in der Schweiz, begonnen 1873 und 1874 eingestellt. Der Tunnel hätte Reigoldswil im Kanton Basel-Landschaft mit Mümliswil im Kanton Solothurn verbunden. Bild aufgenommen in Reigoldswil, nahe der Talstation der Wasserfallen-Gondelbahn.
