The U.S. 26 Mt. Hood Safety Project will reduce fatal and severe injury crashes and improve safety by: •Placing a center barrier between the east and westbound lanes of U.S. 26 between the runaway truck escape ramp and Mirror Lake •Cutting back the rock slopes that are too close to U.S. 26 and drop rocks into the highway •Paving an eight mile section of U.S. 26 from east of Kiwanis Camp Road to Oregon Highway 35•Improving highway drainage |
