Summary edit

Description
English: Waxcaps at Hopetoun House These are Hygrocybe splendidissima, but the lawns around the house are rich with many different species in late autumn, of many bright colours. A not-too-diligent search in pouring rain produced a total of 38 waxcaps and ecologically related species [fairy clubs, earth tongues and pink gills – the four small purplish ones to the left], which makes the site one of international importance for these fungi.
