Description
English: Weir at Abbeystead. On the River Wyre a surprisingly large weir beyond it is an old reservoir which is said to hold 158 million gallons of water. Sadly in this square in 1984 several villagers of St. Michaels on Wyre and some water board employees were killed in an explosion at a water plant nearby.
