Description

Nine Elms engine shed. Arriving on the ashpits Bulleid 'West Country' class No. 34016 "Bodmin" a recent rebuild at the time. Famous now in preservation circles on the Mid Hants Railway, captured here in British Railways service in 1961.

The rebuilt 'Merchant Navy' class to the left of the picture was the first of the class to be so treated, No. 35018 "British India Line."
