Summary edit

Description
English: Westcott Barton: The Enstone Road Bridge This bridge carries the B4030 road over the River Dorn. A plaque on the bridge reads:

"The first carriage bridge was built circa 1794, presumably by the turnpike trustees, when the turnpike road was built in that year. Before that the road to Gagingwell had been via the Sandford Road.
The bridge was repaired by the parish in 1830. It was rebuilt in 1868 at the expense of the county, the existing bridge being unsafe. The contractor was a builder, William Grimsley, and the cost was £95.
Steps at the side, which are still there, led to a "keaching" stone where people stood to raw their supplies of water from the River Dorn."

(I am not sure whether the word "raw" in that should read "draw", although it clearly reads raw and not draw!)
